Copyright and IP Complaints
Last updated 5 October 2026 Version 1.0
The short version
- Turtle FM publishes original stories made by our team. Listeners can’t upload content.
- If you think something on Turtle FM copies your work, uses your trademark, or imitates your voice or likeness, tell us — in the app (Report → Copyright or Impersonates a real person) or by email to contact@turtletechsai.com.
- Include the details listed below so we can act quickly. Our target is to act on complete copyright complaints within 36 hours, and on impersonation within 3 hours.
- If we remove content and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice.
1. Our approach
We respect the rights of authors, performers, artists and rights holders, and expect the same of everyone who works with us.
- Our content is original. Every series starts from a story bible written by our team. AI tools help draft scripts, and every script is edited and approved by a person. We keep records of who wrote and edited each episode and which tools were used, so we can investigate complaints properly. See AI Transparency.
- Licensed voices, music and sound. AI voices come from licensed providers; music and sound effects are used only with a recorded licence.
- No user uploads. Listeners cannot upload stories, audio or images. The only content listeners send is character chat messages, which are private conversations and are not published.
2. How to send a complaint
In the app: open the series or episode → Report → Copyright, and add details and your email address.
By email: contact@turtletechsai.com (e.g. copyright@turtletechsai.com), or contact@turtletechsai.com.
By post: Copyright Complaints, Turtle Techsai, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India.
US designated agent: Not registered. Send notices to contact@turtletechsai.com
3. What to include
To act on your complaint we need:
- Your details: name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- The work: a description of the copyrighted work (or trademark, or other right) you say is infringed, with enough detail to identify it — for example the book title, author and publisher, or a link.
- Proof of your rights: information showing that you own the work or are the exclusive licensee, or are authorised to act for the owner.
- What on Turtle FM infringes it: the series title, episode number(s) and, if possible, the time in the episode, or the artwork concerned — and how it infringes (for example “episode 4 copies chapter 2 of my novel”).
- Why it is not permitted: a statement that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law, and why you believe it is not fair dealing or fair use.
- Good-faith statement: “I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material described above is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.”
- Accuracy statement: “The information in this notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorised to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
- Your signature (physical or electronic).
For complaints under Indian law, please also include an undertaking that you will file an infringement suit in a competent court and produce the court’s order within 21 days of your complaint.
4. What happens next
- Acknowledgement: in the app you get a reference number immediately; by email we acknowledge within 24 hours.
- Review: we check the complaint against our authorship and licence records. We may ask you for more information. Incomplete complaints may take longer.
- Action: if the complaint is valid, or if we need time to investigate and the claim is credible, we remove or disable access to the content — target within 36 hours of a complete complaint. Removal takes effect everywhere at once, and downloaded copies are deleted from devices when they next connect.
- Reply: we tell you what we did. If we decide not to remove the content, we explain why.
- Restoring content: if content was removed pending a court order under Indian law and no order is produced within 21 days, we may restore it.
Listeners who unlocked content that is removed are treated as described in our Refund Policy.
5. Counter-notice
If content was removed because of a complaint and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification — for example you are a writer, voice provider or licensor whose work we published with permission — you can send a counter-notice to contact@turtletechsai.com with:
- your name, address, phone number and email address;
- identification of the removed content and where it appeared before removal;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- for the US: a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the US, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original complaint;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We will send a copy of the counter-notice to the original complainant. Unless they tell us within 10–14 business days that they have started court proceedings, we may restore the content.
6. Repeat infringers
We will, in appropriate circumstances, suspend or close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others’ rights — for example by repeatedly using character chat to reproduce copyrighted works for use outside the app. We also stop working with writers, contractors or suppliers who repeatedly supply infringing material.
7. Trademarks, voices, likeness and personality rights
- Trademarks: use the same process, identifying your registered mark and where it is used.
- Voice or likeness: if you believe a story or AI character imitates your voice, name or likeness, or that of someone you represent, report it as Impersonates a real person. We treat this as urgent — target 3 hours — and do not require a court order to act. See Grievance Redressal.
8. False complaints
Knowingly false complaints or counter-notices can have legal consequences, including liability for damages (for example under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) in the US). Please only send a complaint if you believe it is accurate.
9. If you’re not satisfied
You can ask the Grievance Officer to review our decision and, in India, appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee. See Grievance Redressal.
